HopeChannel Leaders Convene, Prepare for Net Harvest 2025

Nearly 40 leaders from Hope Channel (HC) stations and studios gathered at the Davao Mission headquarters to strategize and prepare for the upcoming Harvest 2025 initiative, a hybrid broadcast scheduled for November 2025.

The four-day consultative meeting, held from February 19 to 22, gathered HC leaders from Indonesia and the Philippines, where most HC studios are. It was convened in Davao City under the theme, “Broadcasting Hope: Expanding our Reach – Impacting More Lives.”

Dr. Chanmin Chung, the Vice President for Global Media and Engagement at Hope Channel International in Maryland, USA, attended this event and presented, emphasizing that while content is king, engagement is the emperor!

He stated, “We create content, but engaging with our listeners and viewers is very important! We must approach this with extra care and concern when producing programs for Hope Channel!”

Dr. Michael Palar, the Hope Channel Coordinator of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD), attended the meeting with a significant delegation of directors and experts to address key issues. During his Sabbath messages, he highlighted the conditions and impact of Hope Channel in the Southern Asia-Pacific territory, emphasizing the importance of commitment to this noble ministry.

The meeting featured devotional messages from Pr. Raymond Lohonauman of Hope Channel Indonesia, Pr. Sherman Fiedacan of Hope Channel Philippines, Pr. Danielo Palomares, President, and Mr. Rhoen Catolico, Communication/Media Director, from the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission headquarters.

The following presenters were present during this meeting: Pr. Abner Dizon, the SSD AMR Coordinator; Pr. Heshbon Buscato, SSD Communication and Media Director; Mr. Anthony Stanyer, SSD Media Studio Manager; Mr. Johnster Joe Calibod and Ms. Charm Pamisa-Senening from Hope Channel South Philippines in Cagayan de Oro; Steve Mandey and Jefri Siadari from Hope Channel Indonesia; Mr. Edward Rodriguez, SSD Associate Communication Director; Dr. Lalaine Alfanoso, SSD Health Director; and Pr. Felixian Felicitas, SSD Field Secretary.

Topics include the network’s ability to provide programs that educate, dispel misconceptions, foster understanding among diverse cultural viewers, address ethics in program production, and effectively manage content, engagement, and program logistic distribution.

The after-sessions allowed the four groups of delegates to discuss issues related to the topic, leading to resolutions to improve programming and content. Hope Channel serves diverse languages and cultures regardless of location, effectively bridging the gap between Jesus and His followers, who are often drawn to worldly pleasures and traditions.

We end this report by sharing Ellen G. White’s thoughts in her book Evangelism 122.4: “Let every worker in the Master’s vineyard study, plan, devise methods, to reach the people where they are. We must do something out of the common course of things. We must arrest the attention. We must be deadly in earnest. We are on the very verge of times of trouble and perplexities that are scarcely dreamed of.”—Letter 20, 1893
