Its Future Home, A Light on the Hill
SePUM Family Visits Tacunan in Tugbok:
The administrators, directors and office workers of the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission (SePUM) visited on April 19 a church-acquired land property at Purok 3, Tacunan, Tugbok District, Davao City which will house the new union headquarters for Davao Mission (DM); Southern Mindanao Mission (SMM); Northern Davao Mission (NDM); South Central Mindanao Mission (SCMM); and Southeastern Caraga Mission (SeCM).
As a result of the rapid growth of this church, which was eager to share the pure gospel of God, unchanged from Creation until now, bifurcation happened in December 2023. The Mindanao-wide coverage of the South Philippine Union Conference (SPUC) was divided into two. Thus, SePUM was born with three previously established missions (DM, SMM, and NDM and two new missions (SCMM) and SECM). SPUC, therefore, has a new name, Southwestern Philippine Union Conference (SwPUC), with five established missions and conferences: North Central Mindanao Conference, Western Mindanao Conference, Northeastern Mindanao Mission, Zamboanga Peninsula Mission, and Central Mindanao Mission.
SePUM, as a neophyte institution, barely started from scratch, homeless. Yet, the loving Adventist Hospital Davao (AHD) offered a seldom-used portion of its children’s ward on the 3rd and 4th Floors of its sturdy building as SePUM’s temporary home.
During the visit at Tacunan on preparation day, Pastor Danielo Palomares, Pastor Edwin Magdadaro, and Sir Lawrence Lamera, SePUM President, Executive Secretary, and Treasurer, respectively, along with a few directors present and all office staff, dedicated to God’s four equipment, one cement mixer, two hollow block making machines and a generator, and prayed for all the masons, carpenters and other workers who will start in initial preparations for the building which will house the armies and resources God will use to proclaim the good news that Jesus is coming very soon.
Also present during the visit were Dr. Pastor Jonathan Casio, newly elected President of Adventist Hospital Davao, and Mr. Roy Perez, President of Adventist International Health System Philippines, Inc. (AIHSPI).
As one family fully trusting God’s promises, here are our inspirations: “And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 Furthermore, “God’s love for His church is infinite. His care over His heritage is unceasing .” Ellen G. White, July 1, 1900 (SePUM Communication)
