SePUM’s F-Camp Officially Starts

To create one of the best holidays, young people from various locations in the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission (SePUM) will come together for Friendship Camp (F-Camp) 2024 from June 25 to June 30.

Several camp organizers initiate the event with foot-washing and communion service to seek divine guidance and renewed camaraderie. Tent-pitching and campsite preparations then quickly ensue, with the collaboration of everyone in the districts and community.

Creative promotions on their Facebook pages attract Adventist youth to invite their friends to join F-Camp, which provides free transportation, food, fun activities, and interesting plenary talks.

Each unit requires the participation of four Adventist youth and eight of their classmates, relatives, or friends. This enhanced Pathfinder camp will provide rewarding experiences for believers in the Davao Mission (DM), Northern Davao Mission (NDM), South Central Mindanao Mission (SCMM), Southeastern Caraga Mission (SeCM), and Southern Mindanao Mission (SMM).

The 230 districts around SePUM are merging and selecting suitable locations for a camping ground. These locations could resemble a farming scenery in Kapatagan, Digos City, a school site like Sahmyook International School, a beachside in Sarangani Province or Samal, or a forest ambiance in Cotabato or Agusan. The aim is to create safe and peaceful experiences for memorable camping trips.

Under the dynamic leadership of Pastor Nelo Seda Jr., SePUM Youth Director, together with the capable leadership of all youth directors, departmental leaders, administrators, district pastors, and church members, especially the trained master guides and camp facilitators across the territory, young participants – with their family’s consent – will soon bring home a deeper sense of teamwork, friendship, and discipline, and most importantly, the knowledge of Jesus and His love.

Our Southeastern Philippine Union Mission (SePUM) directors are assigned to specific territories to supervise and assist each camp. SeCM will be overseen by Pr. Raul Emnace (SS/PM Director) and Dr. Perlyn Sanes (Education Director). NDM will have monitoring visits from Pr. Jun Taotao (1000MM) and Sir Esmiraldo Cantila, Jr. (Associate Treasurer), while Davao Mission will have engagement activities led by Sir Rhoen Shane P. Catolico (Communication) and Pr. Danny Inato (Publishing).

Pastor Rey Dela Cruz (Ministerial Secretary) and Pastor Victor Navarro (Health Ministries) will oversee SCMM. Meanwhile, SMM will be handled by Pastor Dante Dabucol (Stewardship Director) and Pastor Jonathan Hemoroz (Adventist Mission). We all believe that our collaboration will be a great success with God’s guidance as we help our youth. We have hope for the future as we journey through this transient world.

Sure, here’s the rewritten text:

Centered on the theme “PINILI,” a Cebuano word for “CHOSEN,” it reflects the message of 1 Peter 2:9: “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people… who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” This emphasizes the significance of building a stronger relationship with Jesus for young people from all backgrounds as we get ready for His imminent return.

We need to bring friends because we are obliged to share immeasurable happiness with Jesus. Mrs. Ellen G. White, a youth-loving Adventist writer, inspires: “The warmth of true friendship … is a foretaste of the joys of heaven.” The Ministry of Healing, 360.

Please pray for God’s immeasurable mercies to be upon the camps and the delegates’ families. Pray that from Day 1 until they disperse, safety, good health, and exceeding joy will encircle us all. We will marvel at being “CHOSEN” to stand as the light of the world. (SePUM Communication)
