AWR Center for Digital Evangelism Campaign Sparks Revival in the South Central Mindanao
The recently concluded “Revelation of Hope” evangelistic campaign brought a wave of spiritual revival across the South Central Mindanao Mission (SCMM), with 994 individuals choosing to be baptized as they embraced the message of hope and salvation in Christ. This milestone event, held from October 13–19, 2024, culminated at the Kidapawan Central Adventist Church, with simultaneous meetings happening at ten other sites throughout SCMM’s territory.
The campaign, organized by the Adventist World Radio (AWR) Center for Digital Evangelism (CDE), was led by Pr. Jeter Canoy, Associate Director of AWR CDE, at the mega Adventist Church in Kidapawan. Meanwhile, ten other CDE missionaries were assigned to neighboring churches, each passionately sharing messages that revealed the Bible’s end-time prophecies and the hope of Christ’s return.
This life-changing event would not have been possible without the remarkable leadership and heartfelt support of the South Central Mindanao Mission’s leaders, who not only provided the much-needed funds for evangelism but were also present every night, offering encouragement and prayers. Their unwavering commitment, as well as that of the local pastors, played a crucial role in guiding people to make decisions for Christ.
“We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the church leadership and the tireless efforts of our local pastors,” said Pr. Jeter Canoy. “Each night, they were there—praying, encouraging, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Their love for the mission and the people they serve was truly inspiring.”
The success of this campaign was a collective effort, largely thanks to the steadfast leadership of Elder Nilo Cabatingan, President of the South Central Mindanao Mission, whose commitment to evangelism and unwavering support helped make this event possible. Elder Cabatingan and his co-officers and local church members provided crucial evangelism funds and ensured nightly support for the campaign’s smooth operation. Their dedication to the mission field and the growth of God’s kingdom was evident in every aspect of the event.
Meanwhile, the tremendous support from the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission through Elder Rhoen Catolico, Communication, Public Affairs and Religious Liberty Director, and Media director, was also vital to the campaign’s success. Elder Catolico worked closely with the AWR Asia/Pacific Division and AWR CDE to integrate digital evangelism with traditional methods, reaching people near and far.
“This event demonstrated collaboration’s powerful impact,” said Elder Catolico. “When leaders, pastors, and members work hand in hand, we see the Holy Spirit move in incredible ways. The harvest for God’s kingdom was truly a blessing.”
Special recognition is extended to the AWR Asia/Pacific Region headquarters and the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission (SePUM) for their constant guidance and support. The leadership of AWR and SePUM demonstrated how the church can harness the power of both digital and traditional evangelism to reach more people, touching lives in both urban and remote areas.
Pr. Canoy’s nightly sermons, centered on God’s plan for humanity and the prophecies of the Bible, resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom had been searching for answers. The series served as a beacon of light for many who felt weighed down by life’s challenges, offering them the hope of a new beginning in Christ.
One attendee shared, “I’ve longed for peace in my heart for years. When I heard the message of hope, I knew it was time to let go of my burdens and accept Jesus into my life.” Her story reflects the countless others who found spiritual healing through the campaign.
Another participant shared his experience: “I came to the meetings out of curiosity, but I found something more—a deeper understanding of God’s purpose for my life. My decision to be baptized feels like the start of a new journey, and I’m filled with hope.”
The 994 baptisms are not just numbers; they represent the culmination of heartfelt prayers, tireless efforts, and God’s providence at work. The stories of transformation—men, women, and young people alike—show how deeply hope can touch lives when delivered with love and compassion.
As the campaign drew to a close, the impact was felt far beyond the walls of the churches. SCMM’s leadership is already looking ahead, with plans to sustain this momentum and continue reaching out to communities across the region.
“We’re grateful for how God has led us, and this is only the beginning,” said SCMM president Pr. Welnie Miado. “This campaign has shown us that when we work together—pastors, leaders, missionaries, and members—we can bring real, lasting change to people’s lives.”
The AWR CDE campaign has ignited a fire for mission work in the hearts of many, and the AWR CDE team is more determined than ever to continue sharing God’s message of love and salvation through digital and face-to-face evangelism.
