First Global Adventist Technology Summit Breaks Ground in Chiang Mai, Thailand
The lively city of Chiang Mai is hosting an innovative event – the Adventist Technology Summit (ATS). This summit signifies a major milestone as it is the first time ATS has collaborated with the GAiN (Global Adventist Internet Network) conference. Both of these events serve as exceptional and influential platforms for exploring the intersection and collaboration of technology, mission, and evangelism.
ATS focuses on developing and maintaining the Church’s Digital Strategy for Mission. Participants explored the essential foundational elements required for effective digital evangelism outreach.
Williams Costa, the communication director of the World Church, reminds attendees to use technology to collaborate with departments and ministries for the digital strategy in mission.
In the context of the digital mission, Paul Douglas, the Chief Finance Officer of the worldwide Adventist Church, states that what is occurring today represents “The New Day” for the Adventist Church. He emphasized the importance of investing in technology to better reach “into all the world.”
He also stressed the use of his term “Synergynomics,” defined as “the practice of everyone paying a little and getting a lot, rather than getting a little and paying a lot!”
The Global Adventist Internet Network (GAiN) event will immediately follow the Adventist Technology Summit (ATS), with a focus on messaging and media in digital mission. Together, ATS and GAiN offer a comprehensive approach to advancing the Church’s mission in the digital age.
