Northern Davao Mission’s AWR Hope Radio Mati: 12 Years of Planting Seeds, Reaps 1074 Souls

Mati City, Davao Oriental – AWR 94.3 HopeRadio Mati, a faith-based community radio station dedicated to sharing the love of Jesus Christ, recently celebrated its 12th anniversary with an event highlighting its significant impact.

The celebration, themed “12 Years Stronger: Inspiring Hope, Changing Lives,” witnessed the baptism of 370 individuals into the Adventist faith, demonstrating the station’s influence through uplifting music, encouraging messages, and public service.

Approximately 3,000 attendees gathered at the Davao Oriental State University Gymnasium, marking a pivotal moment in the station’s history. The event emphasized the station’s commitment to sharing the gospel and providing listeners with blessed hope.

During the celebration, Pr. Em Vladimir Undalok, Director of Communications, Public Affairs, and Religious Liberty, introduced the Hope Radio NDM App, which is accessible to all Android users via the Google Play Store and allows global access to AWR Hope Radio NDM.

Pr. Roseller Zamora, AWR Asia-Pacific Region Assistant Director, delivered an inspiring message, encouraging listeners to commit to Jesus. He recounted the biblical story of a young boy’s five loaves and two fish, highlighting the abundance that results from dedicating resources and abilities to Jesus.

In his Hour of Worship message, Zamora said, “What you have is never enough until you bring and give it to the Lord! He will fill you! Then He will multiply the resources and use you to become a blessing to everyone around you!”

The event was also attended by the Northern Davao Mission Adventist Media Board, directors, former Hope Radio Managers, and district pastors from various municipalities in the region.

The venue resonated with inspiring music from gifted vocalists of the Mati A District, directed by Pr. Chen L. Talledo. Performances by Nuntius Voces, Radiant Grace, D’ Redemption Sound, Little Strings Ensemble, and Wings of Hope were featured. Kapaglaum District leader Pr. Mishael Monterola expressed gratitude to the organizing team and church leaders, emphasizing the vital role of media missionaries in spreading the Adventist message.

The celebration also honored the generosity of Hon. Raul Antopuesto, Radio Natin station manager, who offered his mansion and pool for the baptism ceremony.

Meanwhile, Rhoen Peralta Catolico, the Communication Director of the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission, concluded the event with a commitment message, underscoring the significance of maximizing the use of media ministry and other technological platforms to better spread the Message of Hope to the far ends of the world!

“Continue to bring the love of God and the Hope that Jesus is coming again to all people–not just who they are but where they are,” Catolico emphasized!

Hope Radio’s 12th-anniversary celebration was a powerful reminder of the fulfillment in dedicating our lives to Jesus and contributing to His work. The occasion encouraged participants to continue sharing the Message of hope and faith through their lives and ministries, showcasing the resilience and unity of the Adventist community.
