SePUM Tackles Post SSD-wide Congress Reviews and Incoming F-Camp via ZOOM
On June 19, Pastor Danielo Palomares, President of the South Philippine Union Mission (SePUM), presided over a digital meeting via Zoom with 168 online participants. The meeting addressed various issues, including the upcoming Friendship Camp (F-Camp), which is scheduled to be held simultaneously in the five missions within the territory from June 23-29.
The Zoom meeting was initially for the reviews of the recently concluded SSD-wide SS/PM/NDR-IEL/CM Congress, which took place from June 10 to 15 at Mountain View College in Valencia City, Bukidnon. Everyone at the Zoom conference agreed that the event was beautiful and impressively executed.
Pastor Raul Emnace, the SePUM Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Director, along with Pastor Rene Rosa, the SePUM Vice President for NDR-IEL, and Ms. Jill Palomares, the Children’s Ministries Director, expressed deep gratitude to everyone who contributed to make the gathering of delegates from eight nations organized, participatory, and filled with spiritual presentations.
At the meeting, the collaborative effort of the communication team around SePUM, led by Communication Director Mr. Rhoen Shane Catolico, for the SS Congress Video Report, was commended. In the report, Pr. Palomares reviewed the statistics of baptisms from January to May 2024, demonstrating evidence of God’s leading after the bifurcation.
At the online conference, Pr. Nelo Seda, Jr., SePUM Youth Director, announced the upcoming Friendship Camp, also known as F-Camp, as one of the highlights. This evangelistic camping activity requires a minimum of six units per district, each consisting of 4 Adventist youths and eight invited friends. The camp will feature devotionals, plenary sessions for spiritual enrichment, various activities, and small group and breakout sessions aimed at inspiring participants to grow closer to Jesus.
Pastor Seda listed the items that need to be prepared, such as tents, domes, electrical wiring, and a portable baptistry, since baptisms may occur when a camper decides to be baptized after a speaker’s altar call. An ordained pastor will always be available to perform these holy rites at any time during the camp.
Please take note of the following details:
Each district should select speakers for the morning, afternoon, and evening plenary sessions who can inspire and cultivate a sense of responsibility and love for the ministry. Each district was given a budget allocation to prepare for the evangelism event.
Every mission administrator and director is asked to establish monitoring teams to oversee the activity. Funds for the F-Camp should be disbursed through mission treasurers. It has been suggested to provide short-term insurance for the campers and to allocate contingency funds for emergency purposes.
Through the use of digital technology, our administrators, directors, and field workers at every level, including union, mission, district, and church, will communicate through online conferences or face-to-face meetings to ensure the well-being of our youth, adults, and all members of the church community.
Take advantage of the incredible benefits by sending our youth to these fantastic simultaneous F-camps. Let’s help them grow in their faith in Jesus. We are all PINILI, which is the Cebuan word for Chosen, to be the light of the world.
“With such preparation as they can gain, thousands upon thousands of the youth and those older should be giving themselves to the work. Already, many hearts are responding to the call of the Master Worker, and their numbers will increase.” Mrs. Ellen G. White, Youth Instructor, March 3, 1908, par.3. (SePUM Communication)
