The Southeastern Caraga Mission (SCM) highlighted the unifying power of the gospel during its “Thanksgiving and Harvest” celebration, which took place at the Patin-ay Gymnasium on December 7. The event attracted over 5,000 attendees, including pastors, leaders, lay members, and newly baptized individuals. Through heartfelt testimonies and uplifting songs, participants showcased the transformative love of Christ and the power of the gospel.

The visible harmony and collaboration among believers serve as a powerful testament to the truth of the message they proclaim. Despite being only nine months since its formation, SCM has demonstrated a strong commitment to God’s commands, resulting in spiritual abundance. Leaders emphasized that when they are faithful stewards of God’s resources and talents, He multiplies their efforts and blessings. This unity not only strengthens the church but also enhances its ability to overcome challenges and share the message of salvation with a wider audience.

Pastor Danielo Palomares, president of the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission (SePUM), reflected on the numerous blessings and harvests received. He reminded the attendees that a bountiful harvest results from consistent sowing, emphasizing the principle that the seeds of truth must be planted in every season and in every place.

“Sharing the gospel is not only an individual endeavor; it is a collective mission of the church,” Pastor Palomares said. He referenced Jesus’ prayer in John 17:21: “that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.” This highlights the strength and effectiveness of unified efforts in proclaiming the good news.

The event emphasized the connection between thanksgiving, faithfulness, and unity in advancing the gospel. Participants were reminded of God’s provision and the crucial role of gratitude as they committed to sharing God’s love.

Ellen G. White beautifully encapsulated this spirit of gratitude in Child Guidance, p. 146: “Educate the soul to cheerfulness, to thankfulness, and to the expression of gratitude to God for the great love wherewith He hath loved us…. Christian cheerfulness is the very beauty of holiness.”

As the SCM continues to plant seeds of truth and grow in spiritual abundance, their collective efforts serve as a beacon of hope and faith for the world.
