Elects set of leaders
The Southeastern Caraga Mission (SeCM) started in a historic way when it held its first-ever constituency meeting at Purok 5, National Highway, at FRIEND Research & Training Center, Lapinigan, San Francisco Agusan del Sur. The event, attended by 54 committed workers and 243 representatives from different churches, was a significant turning point for the recently formed mission under the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission.
Leaders from the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission (SePUM), the five administrative units composing SePUM, and the Northeastern Mindanao Mission, which is now a part of the Southwestern Philippine Union Conference (SwPUC), made a statement of solid support, making their presence felt during the First Constituency Meeting of SeCM.
With the Divine guidance of the Holy Spirit, the crowd experienced the selection of passionate individuals to lead the mission, people who are fervent to serve the church and the community in leading them spiritually.
Pr. Jemsly Lantaya, known for his unwavering commitment to the church’s mission and values, is at the helm as president of the newly-established, Southeastern Caraga Mission.
Joining President Lantaya is Pr. Jerry Taguno, who assumes the role of Executive Secretary and the Sabbath School-Personal Ministries at the same time. Sir Edgardo Tornado, Treasurer/Planned Giving and Trust Services, brings financial expertise to the mission, ensuring that the mission’s resources are managed efficiently and transparently.
The Ministerial department, crucial for the spiritual nurturing of the mission, is led by Pr. Azer Tepan.
Pr. Rogelio Jimenez is entrusted as the Stewardship Director, while Pr. Donald Torreon is the Publishing and Health Director.
Ms. Luzijun Pleños-Lantaya is the Women’s Ministries, Family Life, Ministerial, and Children’s Director. Her leadership will be instrumental in addressing the mission’s unique needs of women and children.
The Field Secretary/NDR-IEL is tasked with Pr. Agapito Orendain. At the same time, Pr. Minoro Estrada will lead the Youth Ministries department and Pr. Jesreel Mercader is the Education and Communication Director of Southeastern Caraga Mission (SeCM).
With a committed and well-versed leadership, the Southeastern Caraga Mission is now prepared to set out on its mission.
As the new mission unfolds its plans and initiatives, the Holy Spirit’s direction, with the support and prayers of the brethren, the Southeastern Caraga Mission will soar to new heights in both service and spirituality. (Geraldine Repollo-Baal)
