The Southeastern Philippine Union Mission (SePUM) formally welcomed its new directors and staff during a special gathering that highlighted renewed commitment to mission, service, and unity in ministry.
The new workforce members were officially welcomed by Pr. Edwin Magdadaro, who affirmed their roles as vital partners in advancing the mission of the Church across the Union territory. The program opened with remarks from Mr. Laurence Lamera, setting the tone for a meaningful and mission-centered
Among those welcomed were Pr. Reynaldo Merin, Field Secretary and Spirit of Prophecy Coordinator; Pr. Baby Larry Labang, Ministerial Secretary; Aida Daugdaug-Lamera, Adventist Possibility Ministries Director; Emelyn Aguilar-Merin, Administrative Assistant; and Robin Jhon Detros, Driver/Mechanic.
Pr. Merin previously served as President of the Davao Mission, bringing with him extensive leadership experience. His wife, Emelyn Aguilar-Merin, earlier served as Children’s Ministries Director and MSA Coordinator of the same mission. Aida Daugdaug-Lamera was formerly connected with Adventist Hospital Davao, while Pr. Labang previously served as Associate Ministerial Secretary of the Northern Davao Mission. Detros also previously served with the Davao Mission.
With the additional of three department and ministries directors, SePUM also announced the realignment of Administrative Assistants to strengthen operational efficiency and provide focused support to its expanding ministries.
Realignments include ; Ivy Lou Cantila, Youth/NDR-IEL/Health; Marjurie Hemoroz, Children’s Ministries/MSA/Stewardship/PGTS; Marietta Nacorda, Field Secretary/Spirit of Prophecy/Adventist Possibility Ministries; Elizabeth Rosa, Family Ministries/Women’s Ministries/1000 Missionary Movement; Leonie Flor Seda, Sabbath School/Adventist Mission/AMR; and Alpha Amor Taotao, Ministerial/Publishing. Emelyn Aguilar-Merin was likewise assigned to support the Education and Communication/PARL/Adventist Media ministries.
Another significant update was the reassignment of Ivan Mae Panal-Flores, who will transition from her role as Administrative Assistant to a full-time Media Manager. She will provide production coordination for SePUM's growing media initiatives under Adventist Media Ministries.
In his message, Pr. Danielo Palomares, SePUM President , reminded everyone that this season calls for a renewed missionary spirit—where every role, whether pastoral, administrative, or technical, is a calling to serve God and His people with faith and excellence.
The program also emphasized SePUM’s shared identity as “Steadfast End-time People United in Mission,” a reminder that the workforce stands united in purpose as the Church responds to the growing demands of mission in these last days.
The welcoming program concluded with prayer and expressions of gratitude, as SePUM continues to strengthen its workforce in response to the growing demands of ministry, communication, and mission in preparation for the finishing of God’s work.
