Women's Ministries
About This Ministry
Women serve as important leaders in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Their spiritual, emotional, physical and social needs are of huge importance. The Women’s Ministries Department supports programs that help women rise to their full potential as leaders in their homes and communities. The department backs mentorship and academic scholarship programs for young women. It also hosts events around the world opposing domestic abuse and other violence against women.
Details
The Department of Women's Ministries exists to uphold, encourage, and challenge Adventist women in their pilgrimage as disciples of Jesus Christ and members of His world church.
Vision: Women empowered and nurtured to fulfill their God-given potential.
Mission: Our mission is in the larger sense common to all Christians—that of uplifting Christ in the Church and in the world. But more specifically, we are called to:
Nurture—Reach Up to God
Empower—Reach In with God
Outreach—Reach Out with God
“A Ministry for Every Woman: Touch a Heart, Tell the World” is a program developed by General Conference Women’s Ministries to advance the work of sharing the gospel using the methods that Christ used.
Giving focus to our work of equipping, training, and inspiring women to serve, this program provides guidelines, ideas, and resources for each of these three areas of ministry:
NURTURE: Reach Up to God—To help women in their devotional time and personal growth, enabling them to be nurturers in the church and community.
EMPOWER: Reach In with God—To equip women for their activities and projects for the church and community.
OUTREACH: Reach Out with God—To help women use small group fellowship and evangelism to reach others in their community.
