1000MM Commissions 30 Missionaries to Advance Gospel Work in SePUM Territory

1000 Missionary Movement Batch 65 dispatched 30 missionaries to serve 14 locations across five mission territories under the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission (SePUM). The group visited Adventist Hospital Davao and SePUM on September 24 before moving to the places of assignment to reach souls by partnering in God’s work through strategies shaped by their training, education, and experience.

Davao Mission (DM) will have eight missionaries to deliver the ministry of Jesus in four territories. Otgonjargal “Uka” Otgon and Hanna Mae Abelgas will be detailed to Purok Tower, Poblacion, Kaputian, Island Garden City of Samal. Meljun Mahinay and Chris Evan Impas will dwell in Dalagdag, Calinan District, Davao City, while Johan Van Rensburg and Joje Buǹi will merge in the communities of Balutakay, Managa, Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

San Roque, New Bataan, Davao de Oro will be served by Nakoon Choi from Korea and Ronald Gonzaga, a livelihood educator from Polangi, Samar, while Edan Villegas of Ormoc City and John Carlo Camay of Ilocos Sur will join forces at Barangay Lasang, Davao City.

Johcel Ongonion, a Theology graduate from Marikina City, will work for the Lord with John Argel Vilanueva of Lipa, Batangas, at Asuncion, Davao del Norte.

levy Cloid Matalang Toyco and Recil John C. Avila will continue settling at New Loon, Asuncion, Davao del Norte tocontinue the church -building mission in the territor after the 1000MM evangelistic effort led by Pastor Taotao Demetrio Taotao, SePUM Director, resulted in the baptism of 31 precious souls. Donors paid for a parcel of land along the roadside and funded the construction of a church building.

On the other hand, Holly Claire Guisando, a medical echnology graduate from Cebu, will go to Purok 13, Tubaon, Tarragona, Davao Oriental to replace her brother Hero Louie of Batch 64, who will finish his term soon. Both are children of a mission director who chose to prioritize their service in the movement.

Claire, with Trisha Marie Aclan, a Management Accounting graduate from Rosario, Batangas, will nurture the 42 souls baptized last July 2025 after 1000MM Batch 64 collaborated with SePUM Care Group Mount Sinai in an evangelistic effort. Two generous families donated adjacent parcels of land, and mission and union leaders are finding ways to construct a church.

Kate Zee Joice Escares of San Carlos City will work hand in hand with Jennilyn Tapel, a Nutrition and Dietetics graduate from Sorsogon, in the remote village of Sitio Tipang, Datalbukay, Glan, Sarangani Province. Biǹan City’s Alvin Sudaria will toil in God’s vineyard at Lower Libertad, Topland, Koronadal, South Cotabato, with Agribusiness graduate Harry Clark Ngalot of Eastern Visayas.

To answer the call at Cacub, Koronadal City, Janice Bitol, a Computer Science graduate from Central Visayas, will labor with Erliza Castillo, a former OFW in Europe who was converted to Adventism in London while Jhian Bangcong, a Marketing Management graduate from North Panay, will collaborate with Allah Paculanang of Negros Occidental to encourage people at San Roque, Tampakan, South Cotabato to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Friend.

Knowing that this work and learning environment will strengthen the body, expand the mind, and develop character, Jolisa Pigos, an English teacher from Buraen, Leyte, will join forces with Eliza Luoy of Pototan, Iloilo to serve the communities of Magsaysay, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur.

Moving to Javier, Barobo, Surigao del Sur, near the rich fishing grounds, Matthew James Doctora of Pototan, Iloilo, will be a fisher of men with Anthony Dongon of South Central Luzon.

Before moving to their respective assignments, these 30 missionaries will assist the Australian gospel workers of 777 Reach Out International Inc., alongside founders Sir Leo and Ma’am Rose Hamulczyk and their daughter Ariana. After this joint endeavor promoting the values of health, education, and spiritual growth using a family-centered approach to ministry, the 1000MM workers for SePUM will be divided into three groups to carry out the ministries of Jesus through various strategies in the communities of Mambago B, Talikud Island, and Kaputian.

These trained young adults will live among villagers, often in humble homes or church compounds. They will learn local languages and customs to build trust and respect cultural sensitivities, especially in interfaith contexts.

They will offer basic medical aid, hygiene education, and nutrition tips, and conduct house-to-house Bible studies, small group gatherings, and children’s storytelling sessions. With the help of local church members, they will organize Sabbath School programs, Vacation Bible Schools, and youth fellowships, help establish new congregations or revive dormant ones. They will also train local lay leaders and elders to sustain the work after their term ends. Through friendship evangelism, they will assist in community clean-ups, gardening, and small infrastructure repairs, winning families and communities to Jesus.

From its founding in 1992 up to the present, as per record, 1000MM has trained 11,937 missionaries with active presence in over 75 countries. Records show they became instrumental in 81,486 baptisms—mostly in previously unreached areas—established 1,533 congregations, and built 813 churches in partnership with local missions.

In fulfilling the Great Commission in Matthew 24:14, which says, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come,” Mrs. Ellen G. White offers inspiring thoughts to ponder:

“House-to-house labor, searching for souls, is the work that will bring the richest returns.”  (Evangelism, p. 429) “We are to work as Christ worked. He went about doing good, healing the sick, comforting the sorrowing, bringing hope to the despairing.” (Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 9, p. 30). “Christ's method alone will give true success in reaching the people. The Saviour mingled with men as one who desired their good.” (Ministry of Healing, p. 143)
