Davao City, Philippines — Adventist Hospital Davao, Inc. (AHD), a healthcare institution established in 1966, has elected new officers who will help lead the hospital in continuing its mission of whole-person healing.
More than a medical facility, AHD serves as a ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, combining quality healthcare with spiritual care. Its programs and governance reflect the church’s commitment to Christ’s healing ministry—restoring body, mind, and spirit.
The hospital operates under Philippine corporate law. While the Revised Corporation Code of the Philippines (RA 11232) provides a one-year term for trustees of non-stock corporations, AHD’s bylaws extend the term to five years. The current term concludes in February 2026. In preparation for a leadership transition, the Board of Trustees authorized the formation of a Search Committee to nominate qualified candidates for key positions.
The Board includes representatives from the South Philippine Union Mission (SePUM), the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) Health Ministries Department, the chief executive officer of Adventist International Health System Philippines, Inc. (AIHSPI), and two elected lay members. The Search Committee began its work in January. The Board convened on February 10 and finalized the election of new officers on February 16.

Leadership Affirmation from Church Administration
Leaders from the church organization expressed confidence in the newly elected officers.
“This leadership transition reflects our commitment to stewardship, transparency, and mission alignment,” said Pr. Danielo Palomares, president of the Adventist Church in the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission and chairman of the AHD Board of Trustees, “Adventist Hospital Davao is not only a healthcare institution—it is a ministry. We are confident that these officers will uphold our values and continue advancing Christ-centered healing in our territory.”
Adventist healthcare institutions around the world play a vital role in proclaiming the gospel through compassionate service, believing the new officers of Adventist Hospital Davao will strengthen both clinical excellence and spiritual impact as part of the church’s broader mission.”
Hospital leaders emphasized that the election process was conducted prayerfully and in harmony with governance policies. With new leadership in place, Adventist Hospital Davao continues its commitment to serve the community through excellence in healthcare and faith-based compassion.
Ellen G. White wrote in Christ’s Object Lessons, “Success is not the result of chance or of destiny; it is the outworking of God's own providence, the reward of faith and discretion, of virtue and persevering effort. The humble worker who obediently responds to the call of God may be sure of receiving divine assistance.”
As it enters this new chapter, Adventist Hospital Davao reaffirms its dedication to extending Christ’s healing ministry—serving with competence, integrity, and faith.
