The Medical Mission Outreach tagged as “Healing Wonders Health Advocacy” was provided by Adventist Hospital Davao, church institutions and generous sectors of the Adventist Church at Villarica, Brgy. Villarica, Babak, Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS) on April 15, serving approximately 4,000 individuals, with the aim of continuing the healing ministries of Jesus.

The team, headed by AHD President Ma’am Wintonette Angelica Mojica-Tabudlong and Dr. Joffrey S. Betanio, M.D., Vice President for Medical Affairs, provided general medical consultations for common illnesses and health concerns; tooth extractions, oral hygiene education, and preventive care; minor surgical procedures, and basic outpatient interventions for treatable conditions including circumcision. Free eyeglasses were also given to priority clients. Meanwhile, health educators offered guidance on lifestyle disease prevention, nutrition, and hygiene promotion, while chaplains and pastors provided spiritual care through counseling and prayers, reflecting the hospital’s mission of holistic healing.

Vital signs and screenings such as blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, and basic diagnostics accompanied the distribution of free essential drugs for those diagnosed with various health problems. Recipients were also provided copies of Healing Wonders of Herbs and the Cebuano version of Ellen G. White’s book, The Great Controversy (Dakung Away), courtesy of the Philippine Publishing House–Davao Branch.

Sara All Youth PH, through its President Mr. Santino Encabo and Executive Secretary Mr. Adrean Cabunilas Funtilon, together with its members, actively participated in the activity. They emphasized that despite political differences, they “choose to stay grounded in action and service, continuing to stand on the field, helping fellow Filipinos through real and meaningful community service. In times of crisis and struggle, service remains our priority—because leadership is not just spoken, it is shown through action.”
To empower many through sectoral collaboration, a group of lawyers provided assistance to those engaged in judicial battles, offering legal advice for various concerns.

Church leaders of Davao Mission (DM), led by Ptr. Reynald Dela Cruz, President, along with his wife, Dr. Eunice Dela Cruz, a dentist, kept themselves busy attending to the needs of everyone, with the help of brethren from neighboring churches.
Ellen G. White, the devoted pioneer of the Adventist Church, highlighted these thoughts: “Every city is to be entered by workers trained to do medical missionary work. As the right hand of the third angel’s message, God’s methods of treating disease will open doors for the entrance of present truth.” (Testimonies for the Church 7:59).

“Christ, the great medical missionary, is our example.... He healed the sick and preached the gospel. In His service, healing and teaching were linked closely together. Today they are not to be separated.” (Testimonies for the Church 9:170, 171).
The mission was indeed a realization of Luke 9:2, when Jesus gave a compassionate delegation of duty to His disciples: “And he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”
