The first two nights of Discover Your Way with God were streamed live from Tagum City Central Seventh-day Adventist Church on September 1 and 2, marking a powerful beginning to the 14-part series. Pastor Seth Suan, President of Northern Davao Mission, delivered two deeply inspiring messages that reached viewers across the globe through the collaborative efforts of Tagum Central Church Media, Hope Channel Northern Davao, and SePUM Media.
Pastor Suan, a devoted father and seasoned church leader, spoke on Christ as the fulfillment of prophecy, the power of forgiveness, and the secrets to answered prayer. Drawing from Daniel 9:24–25, he explained how Christ came at the appointed time as the Anointed One, bringing healing and redemption. Referencing Matthew 1:21 and Daniel 8:14, he emphasized Jesus’ role as both Redeemer and Mediator, initiating the investigative judgment—a divine process where every deed is weighed, yet every confessed sin is forgiven.
He reminded listeners that salvation is by faith, but true faith produces good works—not to earn grace, but to reflect it. God’s judgment, he explained, unfolds in three phases: the pre-Advent investigative judgment, the millennial judgment, and the final executive judgment, where sin and death are abolished forever.
Forgiveness, Pastor Suan shared, is a daily act of grace. It frees the heart from bitterness and opens the door to healing and deeper communion with God and others. “In choosing forgiveness,” he said, “we live out the gospel.”
On the second night, Pastor Suan explored the secrets to answered prayer. Quoting John 15:7, Hebrews 11:6, and 1 Thessalonians 5:17, he taught that effective prayer is rooted in abiding in Christ, unwavering faith, and consistent communion. He urged believers to surrender their plans to God, as Proverbs 3:5–6 instructs, and to maintain a pure heart, as Psalm 66:18 warns. “Prayer is the grandest experience we can engage in as human beings,” he concluded. “So begin building up your personal experiences with God today.”
On that same evening at 6:00 to 7:00 in the evening, prior to the main series, THE CONVERSATIONS was launched, as interactive discussion of young theologians explaining important points from the previous episode of DYWG. Hosted by Pastor Louwayne Van Magdadaro, Church Pastor of Davao City Filipino-Chinese Adventist Church, Pr. Art Kevin Rio and Pr. Archie Mandaguio joined as discussants.
The evenings were enriched by music from the Messengers, the NDM Male Trio, solo performers, and the NDM Theme Song Singers, all performing in harmony with the church’s no-drums policy. The event was further supported by Tagum Central’s 20 care groups under the leadership of Pastor Jedie N. Punay and Head Elder Samuel Guiñares.
With four more destinations ahead, the journey continues. As Matthew 24:14 declares, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Echoing the wisdom of Ellen G. White: “In various ways He sought to gain the attention of the multitude; and then He proclaimed to them the truths of the gospel.” (The Review and Herald, January 17, 1907)
Stay tuned and stay inspired—God is moving through every message, every melody, and every heart.
