The Southeastern Philippine Union Mission (SePUM) convened an advisory meeting for Administrative Officers and Departmental Directors from its local missions on Tuesday, January 13, as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership alignment, collaboration, and mission-focused governance across the territory.
Held at the SePUM headquarters, the advisory brought together union and mission leaders to discuss priorities, operational coordination, and unified direction for the year. The gathering served as a platform to review current initiatives, clarify expectations, and ensure consistent implementation of church programs and policies.
“This advisory is about alignment—making sure that as leaders, we are moving together with one clear direction and one shared mission,” SePUM President Pr. Danielo Palomares emphasized. “When our administrative and departmental teams are united, our work becomes more effective and impactful.”
Officers and directors engaged in breakout discussions highlighting the importance of clear communication, accountability, and collaboration among different departments, ministries, and services of SePUM and the local missions. Leaders were encouraged to strengthen coordination and support to advance the Church’s mission more efficiently at all levels.
“We are reminded that administration is not separate from mission,” says Pr. Elmer Romano of the Communication department of the Southern Mindanao Mission. “That the departments are not separate from the mission. With a very strong support from the leaders, local church members, and clear communication, the Church will focus more on REAPS this quinquennium’s evangelism thrust of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division.”
The advisory also underscored the value of collaborative leadership in responding to the Church's evolving needs. By bringing together key officers and directors, SePUM reaffirmed its commitment to shared responsibility and mutual support in carrying out the work across the union territory.
“As we move forward, our goal is to remain united—grounded in the Bible and focused on the mission—with the purpose and a bold intention in how we serve,” Pr. Dante Dabucol, SePUM Stewardship director, shared. “This advisory helps ensure that our plans, actions, and decisions remain aligned with the mission God has entrusted to us.”
The meeting concluded with directors and officers renewing their commitment to strengthen faith, support one another, and work together to advance the mission throughout the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission territory.
