Davao Mission Empowers and Equips Teachers for the New School Year

The Davao Mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Conference Hall was filled with unity and purpose as the Davao Mission Elementary and Academy Teachers gathered to culminate their Teachers’ Opening Report program. The event, held on July 3, 2024, centered around the theme “Together we Go, Grow and Glow for God’s Glory,” highlighting the collective mission of educators as they prepare for the upcoming school year.

Mr. Raymund Robles, the Treasurer of the Davao Mission of Seventh-day Adventists, was the keynote speaker for the culmination program. In his address, Mr. Robles emphasized the importance of seeking inner peace in Jesus as teachers mold the minds and hearts of their students. He encouraged educators to find strength and serenity in their faith, which will, in turn, reflect in their teaching and interactions with students.

Pastor David Bornales, the Executive Secretary of the Davao Mission of Seventh-day Adventists, delivered a powerful commitment speech. His particular prayer sent the teachers off to their respective schools with a renewed sense of commitment and spiritual empowerment, marking a significant moment in the program. His words and prayers provided a poignant and inspiring conclusion, reinforcing the teachers’ roles as both educators and spiritual mentors.

The Teachers’ Opening Report program was a crucial platform for providing updates and reports to prepare for the new school year. It also highlighted the importance of empowering and equipping teachers to face the upcoming challenges at their respective schools.

The Davao Mission serves five schools at the elementary and academy levels: Royal Valley SDA Elementary School of Davao Mission, Inc. in San Jose Digos City, Rizal Avenue Digos City, Bangkal, and Bajada Davao City campuses, and Sahmyook International Academy.

As the event ended, teachers left with a renewed sense of purpose and unity, ready to embark on another year of educating and inspiring young minds. The theme, “Together we Go, Grow and Glow for God’s Glory,” encapsulated the spirit of the gathering, reminding educators of their shared mission and the importance of their work in the church and the community.
