SePUM Gives Home to 20 Volunteers of 1000MM

Beginning September 25 until their 10-month mission work is over, 20 volunteers of the 1000 Missionary Movement (1000 MM) will be fielded in various churches of the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission (SePUM), a territory with five mission fields across 12 provinces of the half of Mindanao.

The visit to the SePUM office after their arrival was inspiring, as the missionaries told portions of their conversion stories, their conviction to serve the Lord through the 1000MM, and their life-changing training at the campus at Silang, Cavite.

Matanao A District of Davao Mission will have Bro. Dino Israel Saw, a 29-year-old BS Education graduate with a major in Math, paired with Bro. Christopher Valera from Iloilo or Western Visayan Conference, an Aviation Maintenance Technology graduate.

The third element for the 1000MM evangelism is Sis Reah Joy Metran, 25, who loves animals with her degree in Animal Science.

God does not require a degree or diploma to serve Him in various fields, but this article aims to inspire our young people that whoever they are, the 1000 Missionary Movement and other missionary work will always have a room for everyone. It only requires an “I will go!” to enable them to be messengers in places where people who are athirst and hungry for truth exist and are waiting.

Mrs. Ellen G. White, an Adventist writer whose manuscripts became guides for all members of the church, has written in a pamphlet entitled An Appeal for Missions says: “God calls for men to give the message of warning to the world that is asleep, dead in trespasses and sins. He calls for free-will offerings from those whose hearts are in the work, who have a burden for souls, that they shall not perish, but have everlasting life. Satan is playing the game of life for the souls of men. He is seeking to secure means, that he may bind it up, so that it shall not be used to advance the missionary enterprises. Shall we be ignorant of his devices? Shall we allow him to stupefy our senses, so that we shall not discern the needs of this time?”
