With delightful hearts welcoming the new year 2026, the men and women of the Southeastern Philippine Union Mission (SePUM) launched the 10 Days of Prayer: UNLEASHED!, a series of morning and afternoon back‑to‑back prayer sessions held from January 5–10 at the limited‑space office worship hall of Adventist Hospital Davao (AHD).

ÜNLEASHED! conveys the idea of breaking free from limitations—whether fear, doubt, or complacency—and allowing God’s Spirit to move powerfully in our lives. In the spiritual context of prayer, it points to the unrestricted movement of God’s Spirit in our lives, churches, and communities. It is about removing barriers so that God’s power can flow fully.
Conducted in morning and afternoon sessions during the weekdays, with communion services on the eve of Sabbath and a special Sabbath program on January 10, the emphasis was on surrender—when believers let go of self‑reliance and the Spirit is unleashed to transform hearts, renew minds, and empower service.

Spirit‑filled speakers graced the morning sessions. Elder Esmiraldo Cantila, Jr. spoke on “Knowing Jesus as Our Living Saviour.” Ma’am Emilyn Merin shared “Meeting Jesus When He Surprises Us.” Mrs. Marchic Sela emphasized with conviction the urgent call to “Repent and Be Saturated with the Holy Spirit.” Ma’am Anily Mae T. Catolico expounded on “Discipling Children and All Generations to Speak for Jesus.” Bro. Jonarie Lomocso reminded everyone of the importance of “Seeing and Caring for the Forgotten.”

The afternoon sessions featured Sir Lolito Fuentes, Jr. on “Align with Kingdom Priorities,” Sir Jann Denzel Guingguing on “Humbly Come Together in the Mind of Christ,” and Sir Lemuel Dayo, who emphasized “Boldly Stand for Christ and Follow Him Fully.” Ma’am Marjurie Hemoroz explained the importance “To Love our Family of Faith Like Jesus Does” and Ma’am Elizabeth Rosa highlighted how to “Practice Radical Generosity. As a unified family, administrators, directors, and staff, offered inspiring contributions throughout the week.

Pr. Edwin Magdadaro, Executive Secretary, delivered a powerful message during vespers on Foot Washing and Communion night, focusing on the depth and meaning of the Lord’s Prayer. It affirms God’s loving authority and our identity as His children, calling for reverence and holiness in worship. In this prayer taught by Jesus, we express longing for God’s reign and Christ’s return as we say, “Your kingdom come,” while submitting to God’s plan over personal desires. By asking for daily bread, we show trust in God’s provision and dependence on Him for both physical and spiritual sustenance. Through confession and reconciliation, we plead for protection and strength against sin and for victory in spiritual battles. The prayer strengthens our faith in God’s ultimate triumph, affirming His sovereignty.

The Sabbath celebration featured songs from the three care groups—Moriah, Sinai, and Zion—along with the Ladies Chorus, solo performances, and duets rendered by various couples throughout the week. Pr. Danielo Palomares delivered an hour of worship on “Jesus and the Holy Spirit.” In Revelation 1:8, the Lord God declares: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” He is the beginning and the end, the source and the goal of all creation. Jesus is not only present at the start of history but also its fulfillment. His sovereignty spans all time.
He is the Savior and Redeemer, Teacher and Example, Mediator, King, and Lord. Through His life and teachings, He revealed God’s love, truth, and the way to live faithfully. Jesus’ central role is to bring salvation through His death and resurrection, reconciling humanity to God.

The Spirit, as the Third Person of the Trinity—fully God, distinct from the Father and the Son yet united in essence—teaches, guides, comforts, empowers, and sanctifies. He works within believers to transform them into Christ’s likeness, producing spiritual fruit. The Spirit intercedes in prayer, reveals God’s truth, and strengthens Christians in weakness. As the empowerer, He gives gifts for ministry, boldness in witness, and unity in the Church.

In their relationship, Jesus was conceived by the Spirit (Luke 1:35). At His baptism, the Spirit descended on Him, affirming His mission. Jesus performed miracles and proclaimed the Kingdom through the Spirit’s power. The Spirit raised Jesus from the dead, and before ascending, Jesus promised to send the Spirit to dwell in believers. Today, the Spirit glorifies Jesus, makes His presence real in the Church, and continues His mission in the world.

The culmination Sabbath ended with a jubilant Adventist Youth Program featuring educational games, leadership drills, songs, and excellent guitar music from Elder Esmiraldo Cantila (Associate Treasurer), Sir Reymond Bucag (visitor from the Department of Migrant Workers), and their guitarist friend. The social night after dinner allowed brotherhood and love to resurface at an even higher level than usual.
Please be inspired by these. “The promise is made on condition that the united prayers of the church are offered, and in answer to these prayers there may be expected a power greater than that which comes in answer to private prayer. The power given will be proportionate to the unity of the members and their love for God and for one another.” Ellen G. White. Manuscript Releases, Vol. 9, p. 303
